Catch Me If You Can

Catch me if you can

This title sequence I think is very effective as it is very different to other films. It is all done in animation and uses clever ways to link the titles into the animations  it also gives you an idea about what the film is about. It uses lots of blue color's which could may appeal to a male audience. It also suggests that this film is more upper class as there all dressed in smart clothes. The non diegetic sound the music playing over the title sequence creates a mood of mystery but it is also quite cheerful music this suggest that the film will include happiness yet a sense of mystery involved. There use of travel such as the planes and airport animations included in the film link with running away from something and someone which also reflects with the title. When he gets away from all the travel areas it shows him living a classy life and shows that if no one catches him he will be living the high life. There also lots of women shown in the title sequence so you can tell it will appeal to the male gaze. It also shows the animation going into different identity's suggesting he does this throughout the film. The animation of the man who is always one step behind him portrays that maybe they catch up with him and that a detective is looking for him and this reflects with the detective music used.
You can view the title sequence by clicking on the title above.
