Risk Assessment

-Before we filmed, we made sure that the location would be safe, so we went during the day which also benefited our lighting.
-We also made sure that our actress did not have to do any unsafe stuff that would cause her harm in our film.
-We made sure not to disrupt the public whilst filming
-We made sure that our filming equipment would not obstruct the area we was filming in.
-Before we started filming we made sure the camera was safely attached to the tripod and set up correctly so it couldn't harm anyone
around it and we could not harm the camera.

Rat Race

Rat Race's title sequence was very effective as it was very fun to watch and got the audience to pay attention  it also introduced the characters so we knew who they where before the film. It set the genre of it being a comedy  it appeals to young and older people. The music was very effective as it had the name of the film included into it, it also linked in very with was happening. It was very upbeat and also linked into the film. The bright colors draws you're attention  the heads that aren't in proportion to the bodies makes it very comical and child like, it represents the film to be a bit silly and the characters are going to be quite childish.

Why I Chose My Title

We came up with it by researching words to do with our film like 'mental' or 'sadness' and saw if other more striking words came up that would relate to our film but also bring attention to our film. We also did not want to use a film name that had already been used to we used a word that isn't commonly used as others.

My title is called indignation, i called it this as it means righteous anger and displeasure at something unjust. In our film she is angry at the world as she is going through something unjust, so the title fitted in with our film therefore we chose it.

After looking at various title sequences of the openings of lots of different films I found that most opening credits use the basic over titles which are: distribution company, name of production company, starring, film titles, screen play by, costume designer, casting by, film editor, production designer and (producers name) production

My planned titles:

Costume For My Film

We tried to make our character have a unique style so she would stand out, but we also made her look stylish and attractive to appeal to the target audience. We used a fashionable top to make her look like an average girl but with the hooped earrings jean jacket and messed up hair gave her a uniqueness that made her stand out. It also showed how she was different from the rest which compared to her mental condition is different from the rest. We thought that the outfit appealed to the target audience also as we are going for the young adults and that it the sort of fashion they are into.

Title Production/Distribution Company

Vertigo Films:

Casino Royale

This opening I think is very effective, the opening gives you a good idea of what the film is going to be about and gives a good twist of action vs casino.
The animation is effective and gives it a more light hearted feel whilst showing shooting and killing. This may represent that it was a good thing to kill these people and keeps the audience on the main characters side.
The use of using clubs, hearts, diamonds and spades which are all to do with cards shows that it will be about card games and how he uses it to his advantage. The twist of using the casino and the guns makes less graphic and pretty much tells you the sense of the film.
Having the main character featured in the title sequence introduces you to the character and and shows what he is like.
The music used is very effective as it is quite upbeat yet has a dark twist to it. It also fits into the title sequence as it goes along.

Six Feet Under

It shows many different images, some of the images are disturbing and some are seem very peaceful shots of nature and calm blue skies. These images are positive and negative, which contrast and gives a good effect it also shows there are different meanings to the film. Close-ups of bodies, disgusting and beautiful landscapes showing death and passage.

Cold colours are used throughout the title sequence and a warm imagery's are used as well of clasped hands, memories, and the living. And even though there is a presence of death in nearly every frame, beauty is still shown. The titles are shown in different areas of each shot. Some of the titles are written on a grave stone and another in a glass water.

Shutter Island

The title sequence does not give much away at all but it is very effective. The sounds in the background is the most effective and gives the most away about what the film is about, they are not very pleasant sounds and gives enigma about what the film the is about. The sounds include rattling of chains, water like they are in the sea or a river, the sounds of birds chirping, the sounds of trickling water and the sounds of gates closing with whispering in the background. This gives a creepy effect and makes it sound quite scary and disturbing. With the sounds the picture shows the titles, a foggy background and not clearly but showing chains, barbed wires and cells with metal doors. This gives off the genre of a horror or psychological thriller. At the end it shows a ship in the middle of a foggy sea. The opening makes you quite confused about what is going to happen in the film.

London To Brighton

the use of enigma in the title sequence makes the audience want to carry on watching and wanting to know what is going on.

The women with all the bruises and marks over her face makes you wonder why she has this and who has done this too her, you also want to know who she is running from. The fact there is a young child with her on the run as well who has make up on her face makes it more disturbing. You also want to know what the relationship between the young girl and the women is we don't know whether they are related or not.
The setting of the bathroom in the opening scene is very dirty and not somewhere you should take a child. The scene of the girl waiting in the cubicle on her own is very effective as it shows how scared and vulnerable she is this makes you feel empathy for the child and know how frightened she is.
When it shows the women going out to find money by selling herself makes you also feel sorry for the women and shows the darkness of the film and how she struggles to get by.
On the train you see a more caring side to the women when she comforts the young girl and is there for her. It also makes you wonder why they are leaving.
This opening sets the genre of the film that it is quite disturbing and upsetting, it also gives something away but not too much so they want to keep watching.

Target audience

Our target audience would be young people as the main character is a young girl this can then make them relate to the main character. As the girl got her mental desies  from drugs, in order to set out an anti drug message, we need to show what the bad causes are and scare the audience from not wanting to do it. We do not want to promote drugs but make them look bad. We are aiming for people who enjoy a physiological thriller and like deep films that aren't just light hearted.

In terms of our content we are aiming for a 15 plus certificate as our target audience is for teenagers but we want to use some swearing and more explicit scenes to shock the audience.

Planning

Planning:

Location- Camden:
Camden lock
Camden Bridge
Camden public toilets
Camden high street
Camden market

Were choosing Camden to be our location as it’s an urban town and full of the younger generation and also has a different culture and slightly crazy, its colourful and suiting to how we want to portray our character. There is also a drug culture and this reflects our character and fits in with our overall film idea.

We chose Agnesa to act for us as she was available at the time, lives close to us so if we needed to re shoot then we would be able too. We also need a girl who was quite young around our age because we needed it to appeal to a younger target audience and it also makes it more upsetting if it is a young girl.

Researching our film:
Schizophrenic: is a mental disorder characterized by a breakdown of thought processes and by a deficit of typical emotional responses Common symptoms include auditory hallucinations, paranoid or bizarre delusions, or disorganized speech and thinking, and it is accompanied by significant social or occupational dysfunction.

We had to research our characters condition in which the film would be about.
We made her to be schizophrenic, researched the symptoms we chose specific symptoms that we are going to portray in our film these where: paranoia, hallucinations, and social dysfunctions.

Filming days:
Filming in the holiday period would not be as effective as it would be very busy and hard to film as lot of people visit Camden town as it is tourist attracted. So we decided to film on a Wednesday morning when we do not have any lessons, this is much better as because it is in the morning it is bright and also less busy. Because it was a weekday everyone is usually at work or school so not many people would visit Camden town this made is going to make it easier to film.
